    Dermal Fillers

Dermal filler injections

Dermal fillers are made of up of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance found in the skin that gives it volume, shape, hydration and elasticity. As we age, levels of hyaluronic acid decrease and the skin begins to lose its firmness and fullness. Dermal fillers are a quick and effective way to re-volumise the face and reduce wrinkles, producing a more youthful appearance.

How do dermal fillers work?

Dermal fillers provide volume to the skin thus plumping it out, can provide contouring to enhance facial features and support to the overlying skin, hence creating a smoother , more youthful appearance. They also help to fill out moderate to severe folds and lines in the skin that occur with ageing.

How is a dermal filler treatment carried out?

A full detailed medical consultation and facial assessment will be carried out initially by Dr Qureshi, following which a treatment plan with costs will be discussed.

Treatment will involve quantities of the filler gel being injected using a fine needle or a cannula ( a blunt ended needle) into the areas of the face. A local anaesthetic cream may be used to help reduce discomfort.

Results are usually immediate, but can take up to 4 weeks for maximum benefit.
