How do Dermal Fillers Work?

Dermal fillers provide volume to the skin thus plumping it out, can provide contouring to enhance facial features and support to the overlying skin, hence creating a smoother, more youthful appearance. They also help to fill out moderate to severe folds and lines in the skin that occur with ageing.

How is a Filler Treatment Carried Out?

A full detailed medical consultation and facial assessment will be carried out initially by Dr Qureshi, following which a treatment plan with costs will be discussed.

Treatment will involve quantities of the filler gel being injected using a fine needle or a cannula ( a blunt ended needle) into the areas of the face. A local anaesthetic cream may be used to help reduce discomfort.

Results are usually immediate, but can take up to 4 weeks for maximum benefit.

Is the Treatment Painful?

There may be minimal discomfort experienced, however, this can be eased using anaesthetic which can be present in the filler itself or can be applied topically in some areas. If needed, a dental block can be administered for lip augmentation (additional cost). This is the same anaesthetic procedure that dentists use when undergoing dental procedures.
