What does Profhilo do?

what does profhilo do

If you have heard about the revolutionary results of Profhilo treatment and are curious to find out if the rumours are true, let us give you an overview of what Profhilo does.

Profhilo is a skin booster, used to improve the overall health of skin tissue. It is particularly effective at combating the effects of age.

Profhilo is a unique treatment that differs to similar aesthetics techniques in its use of hyaluronic acid. The following article will discuss the science behind the treatment, leaving you to consider whether these natural results are what you’re looking for.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo treatment involves the injection of a highly-concentrated hyaluronic acid serum into the skin. It can be used anywhere on the body, but is commonly administered to the face, neck, chest, hands, arms and abdomen.

Suitable for both men and women, the effects of Profhilo will benefit anyone over the age of thirty. It is designed to treat ageing skin, where a loss of collagen and hyaluronic acid has caused the tissues to deteriorate.

Profhilo treatment is usually delivered across two appointments, spaced one month apart. After around 28 days, the slow release Profhilo formula will be dissolved by the body, but its effects will continue to develop.

Results can last up to six months with this treatment. Many patients choose to have further sessions at 3-6 month intervals to maintain the impressive outcome.

What does Profhilo do?

Hydration

Profhilo uses the highest concentration of purified hyaluronic acid found in any injectable aesthetic treatment. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced by the body to hold water in skin tissue. After the age of 30 its production begins to decline, causing skin to sag and reducing the quality of skin tone and texture. Profhilo reintroduces hyaluronic acid into the skin where it bonds with water molecules, retaining moisture in the tissues. For this reason, it is often referred to as a kind of injectable moisturiser.

 Elasticity

In addition to hydrating the skin, the hyaluronic acid in Profhilo triggers the synthesis of collagen and elastic fibres. These proteins are responsible for the supple, elastic nature of youthful skin. As we age, their concentration in the dermal tissues declines, causing a dramatic increase in skin laxity. After Profhilo injections, the body begins to produce these fibres again and continues to do so in the months to follow.

Youth

The cumulative effects of Profhilo treatment cause your skin to regain its youthful radiance. Profhilo works on a biological level to restore what age has taken away, making your skin plump and firm. Your body will regenerate on a visible level and you will see a marked difference in appearance. The treatment is very effective at:

  • Reducing lines and wrinkles
  • Tightening loose and sagging skin
  • Hydrating dry skin
  • Smoothing rough skin
  • Overall rejuvenation

What does Profhilo do differently to dermal fillers?

Profhilo differs to dermal fillers, anti-wrinkle injections and other injectables in both its effects and its consistency.

Dermal fillers use a chemically compounded gel containing hyaluronic acid. The gel-like texture makes dermal fillers suitable for contouring, replacing lost volume in the face, and sculpting the shape of certain features.

Profhilo is a thermally bonded treatment. Its consistency is more fluid than dermal fillers, allowing it to spread out within a 2cm radius of the injection site. The hyaluronic acid is used to attract water molecules and hydrate the tissues, creating more natural results.
